Ship’s Rigging Vessel (Strength in Movement)
The inspiration for this vessel were the bridges that cross the bay in San Francisco. Suspension bridges of this type are strong and capable of holding immense weight, but are also simple, graceful and beautiful as well. This vessel is white, to represent the frequent fog that often blankets the bay. An abstracted representation of this structure is on the outside of the vessel. Semi-transparent spots, also on the outside, suggest the spray of the water from below. On the inside, more ropes and cables with a suggestion of the bedrock upon which the bridge was built in the bottom of the vessel.
