Pleiades Vessel

This drop vessel is actually one of my wife’s favorite pieces. It’s a representation of the floating dust and debris following the Comet Swift-Tuttle, which forms the basis for our Perseid meteor shower every August. The white and deeper blue arc near the rim suggests our atmosphere which most of these meteors fly above. Near the bottom of this vessel the debris is somewhat round and in sharp relief. As you move up closer to the lip, you’ll see these structures become more elongated as they gather speed, rushing into our atmosphere or past the earth, waiting for another chance to give all of us a breathtaking light show next year.
